DNA-ENCODED CHEMICAL LIBRARIES

DNA-encoded chemical libraries represent a break-through technology for the discovery of new drugs. Such libraries contain millions of compounds, which can be screened in just few days in an DNA-ENCODED CHEMICAL LIBRARIES inexpensive fashion, yielding hits to proteins of pharmaceutical interest. Screening procedures and hit validation using DNA-encoded chemical libraries are cheaper and faster compared to other technologies currently in use for hit discovery.
DNA-encoded chemical libraries consist of millions of small chemical molecules individually coupled to distinctive DNA fragments, serving as amplifiable identification bar code. Binding compounds can be identified by capture on immobilized target protein and subsequent high-throughput sequencing. DNA-encoded chemical libraries are ready-to-screen libraries, larger than conventional compound libraries typically screened in high-throughput screening campaigns.
No screening assays are required and multiple selection methodologies can be applied, allowing the tackling of “difficult” target proteins, such as components involved in protein-protein interactions.
